Religious freedom around the world

Jihād al-Khāzin analysed religious freedom around the world between 2007 and 2013. Focusing on state and social oppression against religious communities around the globe, al-Khāzin finds deteriorating conditions for all monotheistic religions. Although he finds China on top of the list, several Muslim majority countries are among the top ten. Yet he sees the situation in Egypt and Saudi Arabia, which are among the before mentioned countries, improving. On the other hand the Muslim communities are exposed to official and social outside the Islamic world. Especially Muslims’ religious freedom in Europe is threatened by a rising number of Islamophobic movements.
