Coptic movements have disagreed on their participation in commemorating the events of Mohamed Mahmoud Street on November 19.  On the one hand, Andrāwis ‘Awāydah the general coordinator of the Maspero Youth Union, stated that they will not commemorate the events since the constitution that is currently drafted is about to install a religious state. On the other hand, Fādī Yūsuf, the founder of the Egyptian Coptic Coalition, has welcomed the idea and stated that taking part in the commemoration is a duty (Michael Fāris, al-Yūm al-Sābi’, Nov. 13). Read the original text in Arabic.
