An official source at the papal office said contacts are underway between leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood and a prominent bishop at the Coptic Orthodox Church on coordination for a historic visit by the group’s murshid (guide) Dr. Muhammad Badī’ to the Saint Mark Cathedral in the Cairo district of al-‘Abbāssīyah.

“The Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) deputy leader, Dr. ‘Isām al-‘Iryān, is playing a key role in bringing views closer while the bishops led by Bishop Mūsá of Youth welcome the visit at the earliest convenience,” the source said.
