Clashes between two Muslim and Christian families in the village of Dahshūr, al-Badrashīn, Giza, toned down after a thick security presence in the area.

The unrest began after a Christian makwagī (a person ironing clothes in a shop in Egypt for a living) called Sāmih Sāmī Yūsuf burnt the shirt of a Muslim electrician named Ahmad Ramadān. The two brought their relatives who clashed with machetes, knives and Molotov cocktails, causing six persons injured on either side.
