The author reports on Grand Muftī ‘Alī Jum‘ah’s speech on the occasion of the new year. Dr. Jum‘ah stated that the Prophet Muhammad’s immigration, which marked the beginning of the hijrī diary, was also the beginning of the Islamic Nation. He said that this nation operated on the basis of equality.

He stressed that the modern Islamic nation suffers from a weakness that threatens it existence. Therefore, Muslims around the world should work to regain their nation’s leading role, stressing that the Islamic nation has all the constituents that can regains such a role.
