The article reviews a book by former Muslim Brotherhood member and lawyer Tharwat al-Kharabāwī, who was expelled from the Muslim Brotherhood. Al-Kharabāwī’s "The Heart of the Brotherhood; the Group’s Inquisition” presents the “personal experience” of its author with the Brotherhood, as well as the story of his trial and expulsion.

The author of al-Shurūq al-Jadīd’s article describes the book as “dangerous” and containing much controversy. He points out that some people argue that al-Kharabāwī’s testimonial is not very reliable, due to the fact that he was expelled from the group.
