After nine years since the fall of the Tālibān’s regime, Afghan political leaders now call for the revitalization of the Egyptian, Arabian, and Islamic role in the country and for the Azhar to redefine the link between Islam and terrorism. They told an Egyptian delegation put together by the International Centre for Future and Strategic Studies that the aforementioned roles have been on the decline since the 1980's. They also said the Tālibān is required to give up their arms in order to be allowed to re-integrate into society.
