During a visit to the Mār Girgis church in Alexandria, Dr. Mufīd Shihāb, Egyptian Minister of Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, stated that the government is ready to take extreme legal action to protect national unity and social stability. He said that the Egyptian constitution treats all Egyptians equally, regardless of their religious belief, and that a civil state is the most suitable system for a modern society.
