Pope Shenouda III has returned home to Cairo after a week long medical trip to the United States. A source close to Bishop Bīshūy says the two discussed preparations for the upcoming celebration of Shenouda's 39th year as pope. They also discussed a report on the church, which the Bishop prepared during the Pope’s absence. The source also says that the Pope asked Bishop Bīshūy to hire personal security guards and use his bulletproof car in fear of him being attacked by Muslim extremists for his recent comments on the Qur'an. The Bishop refused, saying that he trusts the Muslim people’s understanding that he was misquoted and that he is known to be an advocate of Islam in the whole region.
