They say the pope has contacted political and Islamic leaders in attempt to control the situation at hand. The Association of Muslim Lawyers announced its intentions to file a lawsuit requesting the removal of Bishop Bīshūy for making offensive remarks about the Islamic faith. On a related note, over 1,500 people protested yesterday in Alexandria against Bishop Bīshūy’s comments and the alleged detention of Kāmīlyā Shihātah.
