Al-Hayat, praised the Muslim Brotherhood for backing the Coptic candidate of the Wafd Party in the Waili district. The author of the article described the group’s attitude as "a new step towards an opening to other political powers and an attempt to extend the group’s efficient political tendencies in the political life."

Al- Arabi wrote that the National Party is about to ask the Sheikh of the Azhar and the Muftī for help in the mobilization of voters in Waili and al-Ma’ahad al-Fanni districts to back two Coptic candidates, in order to oppose the claims of sedition and protect the image of Egypt abroad.
