Last century, the calls for setting the woman free were repeated by various notable figures. But, this century we have a different call in which it states the lessening of the woman’s role. Sheikh Omar Abdel Kafi issued several fatwas concerning birth control. He believes that a boy is better than a girl and having three children is better than having two. He also stated in one of his speeches that having more than one wife is a gift from God because the number of girls is increasing in the Arab nation, and accordingly, the girl will not be able to find a man who will marry only her. Therefore, she has to accept to be the second or the third wife for him.
