Ambassador Aḥmad Ḥāfiẓ, Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the negotiations that were held in Kinshasa on the 4^th and 5^th of April, with the aim to re-launch future negotiations over the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, failed to reach an agreement. Ḥāfiẓ said that Ethiopia rejected the proposal submitted by Sudan and Egypt. Ethiopia also rejected during the meeting all other proposals and alternatives, that were put forward by Egypt and supported by Sudan, in order to develop future channels of negotiation, allow active engagement between participating parties and countries, and resolve controversial technical and legal issues.
