Vice President of Al-Azhar University in Upper Egypt, Dr. Muḥammad ʿAbd el-Mālek, said that a march was launched today from inside the Asyūṭ campus of al-Azhar University, with thousands of protesters participating including the university’s employees, such as deans, faculty members and workers, as well as male and female students, in support of President ʿAbd El Fattāḥ el-Sīsī’s decision to preserve Egypt’s national security. Sīsī rejected the idea of ​​displacing the Palestinians to Sinai, and stressed the unity between university employees and the political leadership to stop the plan of displacing people from the Gaza Strip to Sinai.
